Apple & Cinnamon Porridge Recipe (Sugar-Free)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of porridge oats

  • 2 cups of almond milk (sugar-free)

  • 1 tsp pure peanut butter

  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey

    (Optional. Not suitable for babies < 12mo. Avoid ingredient for a sugar free meal)

  • 1 tsp almond flakes

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 3 diced apples

METHOD

  1. On medium heat, add apples in a saucepan with a tsp of unsalted butter and a splash of water

  2. Cover pan and simmer for 15-20min until soft

  3. Remove from heat and put apple confit on the side to prepare porridge

  4. Pour oats and milk to a separate saucepan on low heat

  5. Stir continuously whilst cooking

  6. Remove saucepan from heat when milk begins to boil (if too thick add more milk)

  7. Add peanut butter and agave syrup (optional) to porridge and stir till all mixed

  8. Transfer porridge with a spoon in bowls and add apple confit

  9. Sprinkle bowl with almond flakes and cinnamon

  10. Serve warm
